Sleep
While i was writing a post about time, i realized that i had so much to say about sleep, so i decided to just write a separate post about it
I think sleep is really important, and regardless of the fact that i am a junior i have to SLEEP. There are few reasons that i have to sleep and i do sleep
first of all, if i don’t sleep i get sick. It’s not like i feel tired, but i really get sick. Those who know me well enough will know that i get bad headaches and stomachaches if i don’t sleep. Nobody likes being sick and i don’t want to be sick too, so i sleep.
Next, if i don’t sleep i can’t concentrate. Sometimes, i miraculously manage to not sleep to study for upcoming tests, but there is a half half chance. If i am luck i manage to fight to get focused and do well on the test, but if i am too tired i fail to concentrate so the results are not so good. This lack of concentration also affects my school life as whole. Almost the whole day i am quite blank. Although my eyes may be open, mostly my mind is dead. Weirdly, i value concentration even though, i myself am a very unfocused person, so when i see myself not focusing well enough i just stop whatever i am doing. Thus, i have to sleep because no sleep can translate to no concentration.
Also, the next day i sleep extra more. Although this may be hard to believe and although this may seem to be an excuse of sleeping a lot, i DO need sleep, perhaps more than others. I can really see this by the fact that i have all kinds of weird symptoms when i don’t sleep enough, and by the hurtful fact that i end up sleeping more than usual the next day. I nearly pass out the next day of not getting enough sleep. In fact, i can back up my theory with scientific findings cited from preventdisease.com. People all have their own internal clock, which is the circadian rhythm. This clock basically tells people when to sleep, when to wake up, and so on. Importantly, this clock divides people’s biological night and biological day, and for some people, this clock is set to make them sleep longer than others. Therefore, even though i try to stay awake my body is already experiencing the sleeping symptoms such as, changes in hormone levels and temperature. How can one possibly do something when the body is asleep!!!
Finally, i go weir…d if i don’t sleep. Normally, i am half unconscious if i lack sleep, so i talk nonstop. Most of the talk doesn’t make sense and most of the times, i don’t remember what exactly i talked about. I don’t want to lose my mind because of lack of sleep!
My post somehow turned out to be a list of excuses of my excessive sleeping hours, but really, people need to sleep. I even learned this in my psychology class. Lack of sleep results in worsened health, lack of concentration, grogginess, inefficiency, and so on. SO people lets all sleep enough! lol
